PIANO AND VOICE
Soprano Alicia Lumberry’s recent successes in opera include performing with the Genesius Guild Theatre Foundation as Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, for which the River Cities’ Reader praised her for “shining vocally,” and as Papagena in Die Zauberflöte. Ms. Lumberry made her Peabody Opera debut as Girl 3 in Errollyn Wallen’s opera Anon with the Peabody Opera Outreach Program and was honored to perform the role of La sorella cercatrice in Peabody Opera Theatre’s production of Suor Angelica in Spring 2019. In June 2018, Ms. Lumberry was an apprentice at the Miami Music Festival and performed the role of Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos. In 2014, she attended the Vancouver International Song Institute where she studied the theatre of art song and performed under the instruction of professors from many great universities, such as Eastman School of Music, The Juilliard School, and the University of British Columbia. Ms. Lumberry is a second-year in the Master of Music in Vocal Performance program at Peabody Conservatory and studies with Tony Arnold. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Augustana College and graduated cum laude. She holds a Peabody scholarship and was the recipient of the J & R Hendren Music Award for her dedication to music in the classroom and on the stage.
