Frequently Asked Questions

How much are private lessons?

$45 per half hour lesson, $85 per hour lesson. All lessons are billed monthly.

How much are group classes?

$200 for an eight week session or $150 for a six week session, paid at time of registration.

Can my child start a group class after the first lesson?

You can join a group instrumental class on the second offered at a pro-rated price. After the second week we believe that it will be in the student’s best interest to wait for the next new session, which start every 8 weeks.

Can I sign up for lessons in the middle of the month?

Yes you can! We will charge you for the remainder of the month and then starting next month you will be billed normally.

What if I want a trial lesson?

Our teachers are happy to give you a trial lesson. It is the same cost as a normal lesson. You will need to call the front desk within 24 hours of your completed lesson if you would like to continue. If we do not hear from you we will have to reopen that time slot for other students.

How can I change my lesson time?

Call the store and talk to the front desk. You can move your lesson into any available slot at any time without any penalty.

How do I stop taking lessons?

Music on the Hill requires 2 weeks notice to stop lessons- which must be submitted in writing. You will be charged for the two weeks regardless of attendance.

What happens if I can’t make my lesson?

Call the front desk as soon as you can. We will work with your teacher to find a make-up time. This is not always possible and we do not offer refunds or credits for missed lessons.

What if I don’t have an instrument? Can I still take lessons?

Music on the Hill believes that students need the opportunity to practice at home to get the most out of their private lessons. If students do not have an instrument at the time of their first lesson, the front desk will help them through the process of purchasing one. Students can use the studio guitars for their first lesson if necessary. Music on the Hill does rent guitars for the first eight weeks for an additional cost of $50 per eight weeks.
